Gary Coxall FACES RESERVES - INTERESTING FACT #1

Apparently Ben is leaving the Faces FC Bosom and is on his way to Hornchurch. I am happy to clear up that it isn't Hornchurch FC as first assumed, but it is in fact Hornchurch Tesco's as they found out he was a sweeper and their Car Park hasn't been the same since their last Caretaker left. Continue

Gary Coxall FACES RESERVES - AN APOLOGY

Brothers, Friends, Brethren. I can hold my peace no more. I stole Danny Reds' first touch on Saturday morning and didn't give it back to him until Sunday afternoon, so Saturday wasn't his fault after all. Gareth told me to own up Continue

Gary Coxall FACES RESERVE NEWS !!

Gareth Collins, Manager of Faces FC has dipped into the Transfer Window and signed a Jan Molby tribute player. After a much-maligned campaign thus far, Collins released this in-depth statement via a club source: "We're fucked". The statement, which has been described as containing basic spelling errors in only two words and handwriting usually found in a 2 year-old's scribble book is based on the current results and disappointing boos from the faithful Faces supporters after their recent home… Continue

FacesFootballClub Match Report 28.11.09: Benfleet 4 Faces 1

Faces travelled to Benfleet hoping to build on last week’s impressive victory. Liam Dooley and Shaun Crocker returned to the side at the expense of Gary Bird & Luke Roust. Reserve team skipper Craig Critchell also made his first appearance for the first team starting on the bench. Pre game activities included a ‘pant off’ which all the boys made a great effort in taking part. Notable mentions go to skipper Darren Chetcuti’s zebra print briefs and Director of Football Paul Baker’s leopard pri… Continue

FacesFootballClub Match Report 21.11.09: Faces Reserves 0 Rayleigh Town Reserves 3

Faces entertained Rayleigh Town in the first match since the managerial shake up which resulted in Gareth Collins taking over (many people believe promoted!) as reserve team manager. Before the match, the team spirit and banter was as good as it has been with Jeff Wilks supplying the changing room beats. The mood then changed when Garth announced Craig Critchell as new captain of the reserves!! That being said the spirit was still high when the game kicked off . The game started with both team… Continue

FacesFootballClub Match Report 21.11.09: Canning Town 3 Faces 4

Faces made the short journey to Canning Town hoping to carry on from last weeks improved performance. Damien Yoxall and Luke Roust came in for Shaun Crocker and Jamie Orr. The game began in blustery conditions with Faces playing against the wind. The home side, were playing a lot of longs balls and Faces were struggling to get a foothold in the game. The lively forwards were causing problems in behind the back 3. On the 20 minute mark the forward chased a long ball which was not dealt with and… Continue

FacesFootballClub Match Report 14.11.09: Faces 0 White Ensign 1

Faces took on White Ensign in their first fixture since the management shake up. 7 players from the reserves stepped up to replace 7 outgoing first team players. I (Scott Bird) also took over for my first game in charge of the first team. The game itself was in doubt as atrocious conditions continued right up to the first whistle. The atmosphere before the game was really good and the boys were pumped and ready to go. Faces made a bright start and were forcing the pace early on. With the wind a… Continue

FacesFootballClub Match Report 07.11.09: Rayleigh Town 5 Faces 0

Faces made the trip to Rayleigh with almost an unchanged side from the week before. The exception being James Danderson who donned the gloves in between the sticks after the late withdrawal of Luke Roust through injury/hangover. Manager Gareth Collins decided to go with the same formation of 4-5-1 in an effort to pack the midfield and stifle the opposition. The opening exchanges were fairly even with neither side taking a grip on the game, both guilty of giving possession away cheaply. The firs… Continue

Faces travelled to White Ensign with all change in the team once again with Wayne Power, Daniel Stokes, Ben Halsey and Joe Kelly coming in for Abs Mahmood, Jamie Orr, Phil Maloney & Daniel Redgrave. Faces began the game employing a new 4411 formation and started really well dominating possesion. Changes were made from the outset with Sam Carter, Stuart David & David Day coming in for James Danderson, Damien Yoxall & Ricky Downs who were all missing. The game began at quick pace with both teams attempting to get a grip on the game. Possession was equally shared for the first half an hour without any re… Continue

Chris Just to let you all know....

Lads, to let you all know, I have decided to leave the club. I am writing this on here because I dont want every1 to think that jus because I was dropped on saturday, I'm throwing my toys out of the pram and leaving on a whim. As you all know on saturday I wasn't played due to a 'dip in form' which is fair enough, the reason I have got the hump tho is the way that it was all done and the fact that, in my eyes, noone had the bollocks or the backbone to tell me prior to 5 minutes before kick off.… Continue

With Manager Gareth Collins back in rehab, proceedings were taken by Director of Football, Paul Baker & 1st Team Coach, Gary Coxall. Changes were made beforehand with Luke Roust deputising in goal and Billy Swick coming in for his 1st senior game of the season.
